Today we celebrate two incredible educators whose dedication, leadership, and impact have shaped generations of students at Era ISD. Congratulations to Mrs. Chaffin and Mrs. Felderhoff on their retirements! 💛🖤

Mrs. Chaffin devoted 32 years to Era ISD, teaching 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade, as well as high school Business and Yearbook. She also served as Senior Sponsor, Elementary UIL Spelling Coach, and High School UIL Spelling Coach throughout the years. Her passion for students and commitment to excellence have left a lasting legacy across our district.

Mrs. Felderhoff dedicated 17 years to education, teaching Principles of Health Science and Health Science Practicum at Guyer High School before joining Era ISD. During her time at Era, she taught Biology, Health Science, Medical Terminology, and Anatomy & Physiology, inspiring students to pursue futures in healthcare and science.

Thank you both for the countless lives you have impacted, the wisdom you have shared, and the love you have poured into your students and our school community. We wish you both a joyful and well-deserved retirement! 🎉

In light of two more student successes in Austin this past week at the State UIL Academic Competition, we want to take a moment to recognize and celebrate someone who has helped make those accomplishments possible for so many years — Mrs. Spears!

For 11 years, Mrs. Spears has faithfully served Era ISD as the UIL Coordinator, along with being the Librarian, GT Coordinator, and so much more. Through her leadership, encouragement, and dedication to academic excellence, she has helped guide over 100 students to the State UIL competition throughout her time at Era ISD.

Her impact reaches far beyond trophies and medals. She has inspired students to work hard, believe in themselves, and pursue excellence both inside and outside the classroom.

Mrs. Spears, thank you for the countless hours, the unwavering commitment, and the passion you pour into our students each and every day. Era ISD is incredibly grateful for you, and we are proud to celebrate your 11 years of service and success in Academic UIL!

Congratulations to Jett Tuggle on earning 6th Place in Headline Writing at the State UIL Academics Competition! 🏅✍️

This is an outstanding accomplishment, and we are incredibly proud of Jett for his hard work, talent, and dedication throughout the year. Congratulations as well to his coach, Mr. Weber, for his guidance and support in helping Jett achieve success at the state level.

3rd in the STATE! 🐝🏆 Our Spelling Team earned 3rd place at today’s UIL Academic State competition — an incredible accomplishment that reflects months of hard work, dedication, and preparation. We are so proud of these students and of Ms. Chaffin for representing Era with excellence! Be sure to congratulate the team and Ms. Chaffin when you see them this week on an amazing achievement!

State Track Results 🥉 Beaudy Kuykendall got 3rd place at the state meet. He ran a personal best time of 14.76. An incredible way to cap off his track career. Congratulations Beaudy!

Graduation Back-Up Plan🎓 The graduation back-up plan will only be used if weather impacts Friday night’s ceremony. If needed, graduation will move to the gym, and each senior will receive 12 tickets for family members. The official decision on the graduation location will be made by 2:00 PM on Friday, May 22. Stay tuned to our district communication channels for updates.

The doors open tonight for Baccalaureate at 5:30 PM. 🎓✨ We can’t wait to celebrate the Class of 2026!

Softball Camp Forms Due Soon! 🥎 Next Wednesday (5/20) is the deadline for Softball Camp forms! There are extras in the Elementary and High School offices.

Mini Olympics Weather Watch Unfortunately, the current weather forecast for next week is definitely not in our favor for Mini Olympics on Monday. At this time, we are continuing to closely monitor the forecast and all potential options. With rain chances remaining high throughout much of the week, even rescheduling may be difficult without the use of the old gym (to move it indoors). We know how much our students look forward to Mini Olympics each year, and we are hopeful for a positive shift in the forecast. This is Texas, and we all know the weather forecast can change every five minutes. So we are going to keep praying the rain clears out for us! We will communicate any updates or changes with families as soon as possible. Thank you for your flexibility, understanding, and support as we navigate the unpredictable weather!
