Super proud of all of our runners at the Boyd Invitational!
Our Hornets competed against some big-school competition, and they stepped up to the challenge!
For all of our freshmen, today was their first time running a 5K, and they handled it incredibly well. We are already running better at the start of this season than we were at this point last season, which makes it so exciting to see what this group can accomplish!
Our lone medalist today with a 15th place finish out of 97 runners was Walker Boyet running his first-ever 5K.
We will continue to work hard, learn, and improve with every meet. The season is just getting started, and there is so much potential in this group!

We are excited to kick off another year of UIL Academics! Elementary students will begin signing up for events in the library with Mrs. Spears this week, and official UIL practices will begin August 31st. Team announcements will be made in the coming weeks as our coaches get practices underway and begin working with students.
Our Elementary UIL teams will compete December 3rd & 4th, and we can't wait to see our Hornets represent Era!

Students can wear a hat to school every Wednesday for just $1! Before wearing a hat, students must pay in Mrs. Bowles’ room or my room. Once you pay, you will receive a stamp on their hand.
Want to make it easier? Pay $30 for the entire year before September and you’re covered for all 36 Hat Days! That’s a discount—and one less thing to remember each week!
For those new to Era ISD, Hat Days are the major fundraiser for National Honor Society. The money raised helps NHS purchase flags to place on veterans’ graves at Era Cemetery before Veterans Day and wreaths through the Wreaths Across America program. 🇺🇸
Era Cemetery has approximately 90 veterans, and NHS is proud to continue its partnership with our local DARS to help remember and honor the veterans in our community.

The Era High School Cross Country teams kicked off the season today at the Nocona Relay Meet at Indian Hills Golf Course! The course featured several challenging hills that tested our runners both mentally and physically. It was a great early-season opportunity to see where we are and what we need to improve on moving forward.
Girls Results: Our top Lady Hornets team was Samantha Stevens and Emory Hearell, finishing 13th our of 38 teams. Also competing for the Lady Hornets today were Kallie Kennemer and Ericka Hitt
Boys Results: Our top Hornets team was Walker Boyet and Ulysess LaFuente, finishing 10th out of 38 teams. Also competing for the Hornets: Brady Boyd, Kaydon Bucholtz, Cooper Browning, Grayden Rainey, Jude Clark, Conner Williams, Leland Williams
Great job to all of our runners! Looking forward to an awesome season!
Our next meet will be at Boyd High School next Friday, starting with the varsity boys at 7am.
Come pack the gym tomorrow for the first home game for our Volleyball program! We were able to add a JV game for tomorrow's slate in an effort to showcase the entire program. Go Hornets!
