At Era ISD, we believe strong schools are built through strong partnerships with families and our community. This spring, parents, guardians, staff, and community members participated in our Parent & Family Engagement Survey, providing valuable feedback that will help guide district and campus improvement efforts moving forward.
We are grateful to everyone who took the time to share their thoughts, experiences, and ideas. This year's survey received 56 responses, representing a significant increase in participation and providing meaningful insight into what our families value most and where they would like to see continued growth.
What We Heard
The survey reaffirmed one of Era ISD's greatest strengths: our people.
Families consistently highlighted the caring relationships between students and staff, the family-oriented atmosphere, and the strong sense of community that makes Era ISD special. Many respondents shared appreciation for the dedication of our educators and the supportive environment our schools provide.
Families also noted positive momentum in district communication efforts and expressed appreciation for the variety of ways information is shared.
At the same time, respondents identified several opportunities for continued improvement.
Communication
Families shared that communication has improved but would benefit from greater consistency and easier access to information. Some respondents indicated that important information can occasionally be difficult to locate or is communicated differently across programs and classrooms.
Athletics
Athletics generated the most detailed feedback from survey participants. Families expressed appreciation for the positive impact athletics has on students and recognized strengths within several programs. Feedback also identified opportunities to strengthen communication regarding schedules, expectations, and program updates while continuing to improve consistency across athletic programs.
Consistency Across Systems
Some families expressed a desire for greater consistency in areas such as grade updates, communication practices, and expectations across classrooms and programs. This feedback highlights opportunities to continue aligning systems and processes district-wide.
Family Engagement Opportunities
Families continue to value opportunities to connect with schools through family nights, conferences, and campus events. Respondents also shared that work schedules and event timing can sometimes create barriers to participation.
Positive and Proactive Communication
Many families indicated they would appreciate more proactive updates regarding student progress, celebrations, and successes in addition to routine communications.
How Era ISD Is Responding
The purpose of gathering feedback is to use it to improve. Based on survey results, Era ISD will focus on several key areas during the 2026-2027 school year:
Strengthening communication consistency across the district
Improving accessibility of information for families
Enhancing alignment and communication within athletic programs
Continuing meaningful family engagement opportunities
Increasing consistency across district systems and practices
These priorities will help guide campus and district improvement efforts while preserving the strong culture and relationships that families value most.
Moving Forward Together
Survey feedback plays an important role in helping Era ISD evaluate current practices and identify opportunities for growth. We remain committed to listening, learning, and taking action based on the voices of our families and community.
Thank you to everyone who participated in this year's survey. Your feedback helps us continue building an exceptional educational experience for every student and strengthening the partnership between our schools, families, and community.
Together, we are growing stronger and continuing to make Era ISD a place where every student is known, supported, and encouraged to succeed.
