Mrs. Courtney Carlton

With over 15 years of experience in education, I have dedicated my career to helping students grow academically, personally, and professionally. I am currently working with a drone education company, but my journey began in the classroom—teaching 6th through 8th grade advanced math and coaching volleyball, basketball, cross country, and track at Krum Middle School. I then transitioned to high school, where I taught mathematics and coached cross country, freshman basketball, and girls golf.

After taking a brief step back from the classroom to stay home with my daughters, I returned to education as a TSI tutor for Denton ISD in 2018 and became an Algebra I teacher in 2019. Most recently, I served Era ISD, teaching chemistry, earth and space science, and drones. As the needs of our students evolved, I was thrilled to help expand our offerings by incorporating robotics into my schedule. In addition, I pursued graduate coursework in mathematics to bring dual credit math opportunities to the Era Secondary campus through a partnership with North Central Texas College.

I’ve been married to my wonderful husband, Chance, for 17 years, and we are the proud parents of 10-year-old twin girls, Kyler and Kayeston, who are currently in the 4th grade at Era ISD. Our family is deeply rooted in the community and stays active through gymnastics, softball, basketball, and the Era Jr. FFA program. In my downtime, I enjoy reading, gardening, tackling home projects, and helping my husband with our cattle.

If being a professional student were a career, I’d sign up tomorrow—I genuinely love learning and believe that passion fuels my ability to connect with and support students. I am committed to helping the students of Era ISD become not only successful learners, but confident, capable individuals ready for whatever path lies ahead.
