What is Dual Credit
The Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB) defines dual credit as a system in which an eligible high school student enrolls in college course(s) and receives credit for the course(s) from both the college and high school. Dual credit courses may be taught on the high school campus by an approved instructor, on the college campus, or online by a college instructor. Dual credit courses include both academic and technical courses

Steps for Getting Ready for Dual Credit
Mr. Erwin will assist with all the following steps.
- Pass the TSIA2 in ELAR (given on Era campus)
- Fill out a college application to NCTC (online)
- Complete the FAFSA (also now a graduation requirement)
- Complete the NCTC Registration form and turn into Mr. Erwin
- Complete the NCTC Scholarship Application (online)
**If the student completes the NCTC Scholarship Application but does not receive it, Era ISD will reimburse the tuition cost as follows: 100% for an “A” or “B” in the course and 50% for a “C”. If a student drops or fails the course, there is no reimbursement.
Books average between $60-$100, the student is responsible for this.
