Elementary Music

music
  • All K-5 students in Era Elementary School participate in music class twice a week. Students learn basic music skills, like rhythms and note-reading, while singing, playing music games, listening, and playing instruments. Additionally, students will learn about different aspects of music history and culture, music theory, composition, and performance skills. In this music class, students will learn the necessary music skills needed to progress through the various levels of music enrichment in Era ISD.

4th and 5th graders will be doing a recorder unit during the 2nd semester, where they will be able to put their note-reading skills into practice!

All students will have an opportunity to perform music in front of an audience. Different grade levels will participate in assemblies and concerts throughout the year.

The main goal I have for music class is to promote music enjoyment, and for students to gain an appreciation and love for music that will last a lifetime.
